The Best Broadway Shows to See Right Now
Eight productions worth the price of admission this season — from the theater everyone’s still talking about to the one you haven’t heard of yet.
The Theater District packs more than forty houses into a few blocks of Midtown, and on any given night most of them are worth walking into. These are the eight we’d point a client to first — a mix of the show that’s been the hottest ticket on Broadway for a decade, the reigning Tony winners, and the newer arrivals earning the kind of word of mouth that sells out a run.
Book ahead, dress for a night out, and let your driver handle the part everyone hates — finding parking two blocks from curtain.

Lin-Manuel Miranda’s hip-hop retelling of Alexander Hamilton’s life has been the hardest ticket on Broadway for a decade running, and the Pulitzer and eleven Tony Awards weren’t hype. If you only see one show this trip, the conventional wisdom still says make it this one.

Anaïs Mitchell’s folk-opera retelling of Orpheus and Eurydice, staged as a smoky New Orleans juke joint with a live trombone line working the aisles. It won Best Musical in 2019 and the production has only gotten more confident since.
Wikimedia CommonsThe Outsiders
The 2024 Tony winner for Best Musical, adapted from S.E. Hinton’s novel, with a rain-soaked rumble staged live on an actual flooded set. It plays rougher and more physical than most Broadway houses attempt — closer to a fight scene than a dance number.
Wikimedia CommonsSchmigadoon!
A loving, pointed spoof of golden-age musicals — the kind of show that makes fun of Rodgers & Hammerstein while clearly adoring them. Big, bright, and genuinely funny whether or not you know the source material it’s needling.
Wikimedia CommonsJust in Time
An immersive Bobby Darin bio-musical with Jonathan Groff leading a cast that performs part of the night right at cabaret tables on the floor of the theater-in-the-round. It’s the loosest, most nightclub-like room on Broadway right now.
Wikimedia CommonsMaybe Happy Ending
Winner of six Tony Awards in 2025, including Best Musical — a quiet, funny, unexpectedly moving love story between two outdated helper robots in near-future Seoul. Smaller in scale than most of this list, and all the more affecting for it.
Wikimedia CommonsOh, Mary!
Cole Escola’s absurdist, anachronistic reimagining of Mary Todd Lincoln as a gin-soaked, cabaret-obsessed disaster in the days before the assassination. It’s a tight 80 minutes, won two Tony Awards, and is one of the funniest things on Broadway in years.
The Lost Boys: A New Musical
A rock-score stage adaptation of the 1987 vampire cult classic, newly arrived with twelve Tony nominations to its name. Leather jackets, motorcycles, a live band doing its best Lost Boys soundtrack impression — it’s the loudest, most teenage night on this list.
Make It a Night, Not an Errand
Our private chauffeurs handle the part before and after curtain — door to door in a black car or SUV, timed to your show, waiting right outside when it lets out. No circling the Theater District for parking.
